The Lady Cannoneer Volleyball Team Finished 2-1 in Mohawk Valley Pod This Past Weekend

The Lady Cannoneers traveled to Mohawk Valley Community College over the weekend to continue Regional play.  The team quickly defeated MVCC in three:  25-10, 25-19, 25-14 then fell in three to a tough Herkimer County Community College team:  14-25, 26-28, 14-25 and finally defeated Fulton Montgomery Community College:  25-20, 25-21, 25-16.  Co-Captains Ashley Capone and Shelby Contryman led the charge back to a winning day after a disappointing day last Saturday.  Ashley compiled 22 service points, 45 kills, 7 blocks, and 14 digs while Shelby ended with 20 service points, 74 assists, and 14 digs.  Haley Riley found success in her new position as middle blocker compiling 23 service points, 24 kills, 5 blocks and 23 digs.  Kierstin Burke moved to the outside hitting position with Stephanie Ennist and Kierstin compiled 7 service points, 18 kills, and 21 digs while Steph had 5 kills, 16 service points, and 5 digs.  Nikki Wormwood ended the day with 14 service points and 18 digs, Haley Zicari had 6 service points and 7digs, while Keysha De Jesus added 7 digs.  The team travels to Cayuga Community College this weekend to take on SUNY Adirondack, Colunbia Greene Community College and Hudson Valley Community College in Regional play.
