Jefferson Volleyball Goes 3-0 on the Road

The Lady Cannoneers pulled out three regional victories on Saturday at SUNY Broome Community College.  The first match was against Pod Host Broome CC and the ladies defeated them in five sets:  25-21, 21-25, 25-14, 14-25, and 15-12.  The second match of the day was against SUNY Delhi, that victory came in three sets:  25-12, 25-19, and 25-17.  The final match of the day was against Tompkins Cortland Community College where they also won in three sets:  25-9, 25-12, and 25-21.  Jayne Strigle, Constableville, NY, once again came up big on defense compiling 65 digs while Jenna Hibbard, Watertown, NY, added 81 assists.  Haley Riley, Lowville, NY,  and Mel Fakatou, Laie, Hawaii led the charge on offense.  Haley had 38 kills and 51 digs for the day while Mel added 19 kills and 20 digs.  Rachael Waite also contributed 11 kills and 36 digs. 

The team will travel to Onondaga Community College this Wednesday to face another tough opponent in a critical conference match.
