The Lady Cannoneers Dig Deep to Defeat the Visiting Lady Hornets

The Lady Cannoneers pulled out a victory last night in a tough conference match against Broome.  JCC lost the first two sets 22 - 25 and 20 - 25.  In the third set they started to gain a little momentum defeating the Hornets 26 - 24.  The fourth set found Jefferson on fire winning 25 - 13 and that energy carried over in to the fifth set, clinching the victory at 15 - 8.  Captain Haley Riley, Lowville, NY, led the way with 15 kills, 24 digs, and 7 service points.  Grace Wallace, Redfield, NY,  found some fire on the outside supplying 9 kills and 8 service points.  Mel Fakatou, Laie Hawaii, also added 11 kills and 9 digs.  Rachael Waite, Lowville, NY, piled up 19 digs while Co-Athlete of the Week Jayne Strigle, Constableville, NY, led the defense with 26 digs.  Olivia Heiler, Watertown, NY, came up big with 30 assists.  The team really pulled it together and have gone on a 6 - 2 winning streak. 

JCC travels to OCC this Saturday to face an undefeated Fulton-Montgomery, Herkimer, and Mohawk Valley for three regional matches.
