Jefferson hosts the 2015 Jefferson Volleyball Invitational Tournament

The Lady Cannoneers began their season at home with the Jefferson Invitational Tournament on Saturday, September 5th.  The girls quickly went to business defeating Mohawk Valley 25-8 and 25-22.  Next up was Finger Lakes, Jefferson defeated them in 3 sets, 23-25, 25-22 and 15-7.  JCC then fell to Corning in 3 sets, 23-25, 25-23, and 9-15.  This concluded pool play and the Cannoneers advanced to semi-finals against Fulton Montgomery and fell in 2 sets, 25-27, 20-25.  Outside hitter Cassie Birth had a big day with 16 service points, 15 kills, and 45 digs, while Grace Wallace helped her out on the outside with 30 service points, 10 kills, and 26 digs.  Olivia Heiler added 15 digs and 16 assists while Chloe Stinebrickner compiled 37 assists, 11 digs, and 20 service points.  Middle Blocker Alea Gentles added 11 kills and 3 blocks and Kaety Hanline added 4 blocks and 4 kills.  Libero Jenna Scott led the defensive charge with 45 digs and 30 service points.  Miquella Farris had a big day on the right side with 16 kills and 14 digs.  The team travels to Finger Lakes on Wednesday for their first conference match.
