The Lady Cannoneers Win 3 at Cayuga Pod Match

The Lady Cannoneers traveled to Cayuga Community College on Saturday to begin regional play and came home with 3 victories.  The team quickly got to work defeating Tompkins Cortland in 3 sets:  25-15, 25-8, and 25-12.  Next up was Broome Community College, and JCC finished them off in 3 sets as well:  25-12, 25-18, and 25-18.  The final match of the day was against a tough Corning team, but the Cannoneers were able to get their third win of the day in 4 sets:  25-20, 19-25, 25-18, and 25-22.  Outside hitters Grace Wallace and Cassie Birth led the offense.  Cassie had 37 kills, 21 service points, and 42 digs while Grace chipped in 19 kills, 28 service points, and 24 digs.  Captains Miquella Farris and Jenna Scott had a solid day as well, Miquella added 14 digs and 18 kills while Jenna compiled 63 digs and 32 service points.  Alea Gentles had 5 blocks and 18 kills, Kaety Hanlin added 6 service points, while Dia MacKay finished with 2 blocks.  Chloe Stinebrickner had 65 assists and 28 digs while Olivia Heiler chipped in 20 assists and 10 digs.  It certainly was a good start to regional play!  Come on out this Wednesday and support the Cannoneers at home at 6:00 in a crucial conference/regional match against Onondaga Community College!
