Jefferson Volleyball Competes in the Annual Cara Bryant Invitational

The Lady Cannoneers finished 2nd in a pool of 9 at the Cara Bryant Invitational Tournament at Onondaga Community College on October 9th and 10th. On Friday, Jefferson first lost to OCC in 2: 22-25 and 13-25 and then beat Genesee in two sets: 25-15 and 25-22.  Saturday started out with a loss to SUNY Delhi in 3 sets:  22-25, 25-20, and 13-15.  Jefferson then defeated Cayuga Community College in two sets: 25-18 and 25-15.  This placed JCC in 3rd place to face off with OCC who was seeded 6th.  Jefferson avenged their loss from Friday night, defeating OCC in three sets:  25-18, 23-25, and 15-12.  Next up was Delhi again and Jefferson defeated them this time in two sets:  25-12 and 25-21.  This took Jefferson to the finals against a tough undefeated Monroe team, Jefferson fell in two sets:  8-25 and 23-25.  Jenna Scott racked up the digs with 69, Cassie Birth added 99 digs and 65 kills, while Alea Gentles finished with 31 kills and 6 blocks.  Chloe Stinebrickner compiled 127 assists, Grace Wallace had 33 kills, Kaety Hanlin chipped in 70 digs, and Dia MacKay finished the tournament with 22 service points.  With only having 7 healthy players for the weekend Jefferson played tough, the team looks forward to their last weekend of regular season play this Saturday at Erie.
