Volleyball Ends Week 3-1, 4-0 in Conference

The Lady Cannoneers ended the week at 3-1 including a big win against Broome in a conference match on Wednesday. They defeated Broome in four sets: 25-15, 26-28,25-20 and 25-18. This moved Jefferson to 4-0 in the conference. On Saturday the team had three regional matches and came away with a win against Herkimer: 25-8, 25-18 and 25-11. They also defeated Mohawk Valley in three sets 25-11, 25-20 and 25-16. But the Cannoneers fell short to Fulton Montgomery in three sets. 22-25, 13-25 and 17-25.  For the week Alea Gentles tallied 32 kills and 5 blocks while Hannah Rook added 14 kills. Outside hitters Cassie Birth had 50 kills and 56 digs while Xanara Ruiz ended with 61 digs and 24 kills. The Cannoneers setter Chloe Stinebrickner had 113 assists while libero Jenna Scott  had 68 digs. Paige Derdon ended the week with 18 digs, Mariah Corbett had 13 service points and Meaghan LaClair added 12 digs. This brings the team to 16-2 overall, 8-2 in the region and 4-0 in the conference. The woman's volleyball team will be traveling to Adirondack Oct 1st for three more regional matches.
