Coming off a very well executed performance against Genesee Community College on Saturday night, the Jefferson Women's Basketball team made the quick turn around to face the 8th ranked team in the nation Mohawk Valley Community College. With a very young team, execution and controlling the pace of play was our team's goal. Making Mohawk Valley play at our speed allowed us to control time of possession and intensity of the game. We played exceptionally well in the first half breaking and handling the Mohawk Valley press, and pressure defense with multiple lay ups. Leading the majority of the first half by 4 points, we found ourselves down 7 at halftime due to numerous substitutions because of foul trouble. As we look forward to a new and very competitive year from our girls, placing 2nd at the Torchia Classic was a great start to a new season. We played the style of play we want and executed at our speed exceptionally well. We are all looking forward to the coming months, and it's great to be competing once again!
