The Lady Cannoneers are on a roll!

Hudson Valley:

On Saturday The Lady Cannoneers traveled to Troy, NY to face the Hudson Valley Community College lady Vikings in a Region III contest. After a slow start in the first five minutes we found ourselves right back in the groove we found Thursday night on the road verse Clinton. Down as many as 12 in the early minutes of the first half, we battled back to a 37-32 Hudson Valley lead at halftime. After the half we continued to pick away at their lead possession by possession. We found ourselves in a closer game than we had hoped seeing a 7 point lead diminish when point guard Jasmine Canady rolled her ankle on a fast break with five and a half minutes left. When the final buzzer sounded we found ourselves winning a close road game 67-65. Despite facing a box and one defense, and a 3 minute stint on the bench after her rolled ankle Jasmine Canady led the Cannoneers with 34 points. Morgan Kiernan and Tapulei Vaveao helped lead the charge scoring 16, and 15 points respectively.

 Adirondack:

Sunday found the Lady Cannoneers at Adirondack Community College for our third game in four days. Facing back to back games, and quite a bit of windshield time on the road we found ourselves off to a sluggish start. Facing a fundamental, and well disciplined team we found ourselves down 11 points at halftime. With a concentrated effort to up the tempo, and energy level we started to pick away at Adirondacks 11 point lead right out of the gate. Adirondack held on to their lead for a large majority of the second half. Winning yet another close road game we came away with a 44-41 hard fought victory to cap off a great weekend and bring our win streak to 3 games. Jasmine Canady led the way with 16 points, Morgan Kiernan chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Tapulei Vaveao notched 12 points. Kaitlyn Rajner chipped in 10 rebounds, in a solid rebounding and defensive effort.
