The Lady Cannoneers Take Two on the Road

Hudson Valley:

On Friday night The Lady Cannoneer's travelled to Troy, NY to face off with the Lady Vikings of Hudson Valley C.C. The Lady Cannoneer's jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead behind a hot start for Freshman guard Courtney Bova. The Lady Cannoneer's never looked back expanding on their lead as the game progressed. Freshman guard Mikayla Horton led the balanced attack netting 14 points, and grabbing 6 rebounds. Sophomore forward, and Captain Courtney Harrington notched 11 points, while freshman guard Courtney Bova joined her with 11 points. Freshman guard Riley Luckie joined the mix in double figures with 10 points, and 9 assists on the night.  Capping off the solid team performance for the Lady Cannoneer's was freshman guard Marisa Clark recording 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists on the night.

Adirondack:

Heading into their second game in two days, The lady Cannoneer's faced off with Adirondack C.C. on Saturday afternoon in Queensberry. NY. "Back to back games on the road are never easy in Region III, especially with as many freshman as we have this year, said Coach Woodward." Fighting a sluggish start to the first quarter, The lady Cannoneer's bounced back and overcame a scoreless 3 minutes and 30 seconds to take a one point lead after the first quarter.  The start of the second quarter saw the two teams exchange baskets behind a Marisa Clark assist for a Susie Morrow layup, and a Mikayla Horton 3 point basket, on a Kali Eyles assist. After the short exchange between Adirondack and Jefferson to start the second quarter, The Lady Cannoneer's built on their lead heading into halftime and wouldn't relinquish the lead again. Freshman guard Riley Luckie led yet another balanced attack notching 22 points. Freshman forward Susie Morrow went 7-7 from the floor tallying 15 points, while sophomore forward Courtney Harrington notched 12 points to help control the paint. The balanced win for Jefferson saw every player in uniform score, and help contribute to two solid road trip victories!
