The Lady Cannoneers Win Against Schenectady, Fall to Fulton Montgomery

Schenectady:

On Saturday afternoon The Lady Cannoneer's took on Region III opponent Schenectady Community College at the McVean Center Gymnasium. The Lady Cannoneer's Came out firing and jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead early  in the first quarter. Riley Luckie and Marisa Clark helped lead a whole team effort in the first quarter seeing 7 Cannoneer's score in route to a 21-9 first quarter lead. The rest of the game would go according to plan for The Lady Cannoneer's as 9 out of 10 players scored, and 6 Cannoneer's recorded an assist! Jefferson would recorded an 83-50 home court region III win. Susie Morrow and Riley Luckie each scored 14 points, while Cassi Whalen and Mikayla Horton each totaled double digits as well.

Fulton-Montgomery:

On Sunday The Lady Cannoneer's faced off against Region III rival Fulton Montgomery. In the last two years Jefferson and Fulton have developed quite the rivalry and have not failed to produce several exciting ball games! Sunday's matchup saw Jefferson and Fulton go back and forth for much of the first half, with Jefferson taking a 4 point lead into the locker room. The third quarter saw much of the same action as Fulton and Jefferson traded baskets and defensive stops throughout much of the quarter. Despite a hard fought battle The Lady Cannoneer's came up just short in their home stand and dropped the Region III contest 72-61. Riley Luckie led the attack notching 19 points, and recording 7 assists. The Lady Cannoneer's will have a little over a week break from games, and will resume with another home contest against MSAC opponent Tompkins Cortland Community College on December 1st at 5 pm.
