The Lady Cannoneer take One from the Lady Panthers

On Tuesday night The Lady Cannoneer's tipped off in an early season Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup with Tompkins Cortland Community College. The first quarter was a back a forth scoring battle between the two teams that saw the quarter end in a 20-20 tie. Pace of play slowed down in the second quarter and saw Jefferson stretch a lead to ten points before ending the half with a 7 point lead. Sophomore Captain Courtney Harrington's sharp shooting, along with Marisa Clark's play making led the Cannoneer charge into the break.  The third quarter saw both teams tie scoring for the quarter with Jefferson holding a seven point lead headed into the last quarter. The Lady Cannoneer's stretched that 7 point lead headed into the fourth quarter to a 12 point victory over a very good Tompkins Cortland team. The fourth quarter charge was led by point guard Riley Luckie's 16 fourth quarter points.  With their first MSAC win of the year, Tuesday night's win saw this year's team put together their best showing of the season. Courtney Harrington totaled 17 points, and 9 rebounds, while Riley Luckie chipped in 22 points with a little help from back court teammate Marisa Clark's 15 assists. Freshman Courtney Bova tallied a season and career high 14 points, while freshman Kali Eyles also tallied a season and career high 13 rebounds to go with 9 points.
