Lady Generals were no match for the Lady Cannoneers

On Thursday evening The Lady Cannoneer's faced off with Region III foe Herkimer Community College at home in the McVean Center Gymnasium. At the start both teams were feeling each other out as the game played on. Jefferson held a 29-17 halftime lead.

At the start of the 3rd quarter Jefferson looked to change the pace of the game and apply some pressure to the Lady Generals. They did so with great succes as they outscored Herkimer 29-10 in the third to take a 58-27 lead into the 4th quarter. Jefferson continued right on in the fourth to post a 81-38 victory. Thursdays team effort was exactly what Coach Woodward was looking for. Afterwards he said " I couldn't be happier with our teams effort tonight. Everyone scored, and everyone contributed in a good way tonight. We defended the ball well, controlled tempo, and made real good decisions throughout the whole game."
 

Freshman forward Taylor Piercey led the balanced attack scoring 14 points, and grabbing 9 rebounds. Three more Lady Cannoneer's scored in double figures Riley Luckie, and Breanna Cullers each contributed 12 points apiece, while Amy Holland tallied 10 points as well. The Lady Cannoneer's dished out 21 assists on 30 field goals made solidying what was a fantastic team effort!
