#22 Katelyn Flanagan vs Davis

Lady Cannoneers Continue to Roll with 3rd Straight Win

The Jefferson Lady Cannoneers hosted Herkimer College on Thursday night for a Region 3 showdown with the Lady Generals. Both teams spent most of the first four to five minutes feeling out the pace, and level of physical play. Sophomore guard Sierra Fleming started off the scoring knocking down several free throws and stealing a loose Herkimer dribble for an easy two points. Freshman Ashlyn Eyles, Chelsey Raven, and Katelyn Flanagan help spark the Jefferson scoring which led to a 20-10 first quarter lead. Jefferson continued to control the pace and execute efficiently on the offensive end seeing there lead increase to 16 points at the halftime break 37-21. The start to the second half saw much of the same story as the first half. Jefferson settled in on the defensive end, and managed the offensive end well. Lead guards Madison Besaw, Katy Nortz, and Kelsey Gonseth controlled the offensive attack and execution. Freshman guard Katelyn Flanagan led all scorers with a career high 16 points. Chelsey Raven, and Sierra Fleming chipped in 14, and 13 respectively. Coach Woodward said afterwards "This was by far our best defensive performance of the year. We've been working very hard at the defensive end and we really executed well tonight. I'm very proud of the effort, and improvements we showed." Jefferson will have a week to rest, before heading to Saranac Lake for a Region 3 matchup with rival North Country CC Saturday December 8th at 1 pm.
