Cannoneers Battle with the Spartans

The Cannoneers hosted the Spartans of Cayuga and battled with them to the end.  The game was played in a constant downpour of rain, making playing conditions rather slippery.  Cayuga would connect early for a quick two goal lead, only to see the Cannoneers battle back with good ball movement and watch Mackenzie Oakes-Lazare hit the back of the net to cut the lead to one goal.  Minutes later, Kaden Conners would connect to tie the game at 2.  Late in the first half, the Spartans would score and lead 3-2 at half.  Neither team could generate much in the second half as the field became very slippery.  The Spartans would score late to win the game 4-2.  It was some of the best soccer the Cannoneers have played all year, as they make a push for a regional spot in the upcoming playoffs.

Next up Hudson Valley on the road this Saturday, game time is set for 3:00 pm.
