Former Jefferson Student-Athlete Standout Named New Head Coach for Jefferson Softball

Chelsea R. Monroe has been named the new Head Coach of Jefferson Softball.  Chelsea played second base and short stop for Jefferson in 2011 and 2012.  While playing for the Lady Cannoneers she was named to the Mid-State Athletic Conference All-Conference Softball team and held the Single Season and Career Steal record with 37 and 49 respectively.  After her time at Jefferson she went on to play for Utica College where she holds the home run record and was named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year.  She was also one of the assistants for Jefferson Softball last season.

Chelsea is the co-head coach for the 16U NNY Bombers and currently works as a Retention Specialist for JCC, where she helps student athletes transition from high school to college.

Her outlook for the upcoming season:

"This year's team is looking to return a strong sophomore class. With the incoming talented freshman class and our experienced sophomore class, our team hopes to build off last year's success to be a strong contender in the region."
