Jefferson Softball Falls at Home to the Lady Vikings

After a battle in Adirondack, the Cannoneers are back home to host the Lady Vikings of Hudson Valley.  Game 1 was a pitcher's duel, as the first runs of the game would go to Hudson Valley in the 4th inning with a 3 spot.  The Vikings would follow the offense effort with 1 more run in the top of the 5th.  The Cannoneers offense would be shut down for the entire game, as Delaney Wiley's leadoff single in the first inning would be the lone hit for the Cannoneers.  Emily Birmingham, despite the loss, pitched well. Her final line: 7 IP 3 ER 8 Ks.  Jefferson falls in game 1 4-0.

Game 2 the Cannoneers jumped on the Vikings early with 4 runs to start the game thanks to a 2 run triple from Kiannah Ward.  However, the Vikings would answer right back and score 7 of their own.  Jefferson would not score again until the 4th when Birmingham drives in Delaney Wiley with a ground ball off the pitcher.  The Cannoneers had no answer for the Vikings bats, as despite 5 runs in 5 innings, the Vikings would win game 2 14-5.  Jefferson drops the doubleheader and looks to bounce back in the coming week.
