The Jefferson Women's Basketball team have started our their 2nd half of the semester strong going 3-2.
Their first game back they faced Division II Erie Lady Kats from Buffalo. The Lady Kats came away with a 72-52 win against the Lady Cannoneers. Breanna Cullers led the team with 14 pts and Amy Holland added 12 points, 10 rebounds.
Next up Jefferson would host the Lady Spartans of Cayuga Community College and come away with a 56-48 win! Sierra Fleming led the team with 15 points. While Madison Besaw added 14 points, and Breanna Cullers contributed 11 points. Amy Holland brought down 14 rebounds.
Two nights later the Lady Cannoneers would host again, this time against the visiting Lady Lazers of Onondaga. The Ladies started out strong keeping their for at bay with a 1 point lead going into the second quarter, then it was all Onondaga, who would go on to win 63-48. Amy Holland led with 17 points, 7 rebounds. Sierra Fleming and Madison Besaw added 12 and 10 points respectively. Hanna Misercola would pull down 7 rebounds.
The ladies would cap off their week with 2 wins one on the road Saturday against their host the Lady Red Barons of Corning Community College and one at home against the Clinton Lady Cougars on Sunday. Sierra Fleming led the charge for the Lady Cannoneers on Saturday with 19 points, while Madison Besaw added 17 points, Breanna Cullers 16 points, and Amy Holland 11 points 9 rebounds. The Lady Cannoneers defeated the Lady Red Barons 69-59. On Sunday, the Jefferson Women's Basketball didn't disappoint as they took care of the visiting Clinton Lady Cougars with a 67-22 win for the home crowd! Madison Besaw led the team with 20 points, Amy Holland contributed 17 points, while Sierra Fleming and Breanna Cullers each added 16 and 10 points respectively. Hanna Misercola pulled down 9 rebounds and Katy Nortz had 6 assists.
The Jefferson Women's Basketball team will travel to Broome on Saturday to take on the Lady Hornets. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
