SUNY Jefferson Softball was back on the turf Saturday facing Onondaga Community College in a double header. Jefferson won game 1 by a score of 8-0. Layla Killino threw a one hit shutout in game 1, striking out 8 and walking 1 Killino's record improves to 5-1. Killino also contributed 2 hits and 2 runs batted in offensively. Brianna Hardwick chipped in with two doubles with 2 runs batted in for the Cannoneers.
Sydney Tanner was the winning pitcher in game 2 as the Cannoneers prevailed 14-4. Tanner scattered 8 hits over 5 innings allowing 3 earned runs. Offensively the Cannoneers were lead by Katie Call and Lia Canell who both went 3 for 4 in the game. Sophia VanHorn had 2 hits including a Home Run. Brianna Hardwick continued her strong start to the season with a double and Home Run driving in 6 runs. Delaney Wiley added a double and a triple. Danielle Birmingham blew the game wide open with a pinch hit 3 run Home Run in the top of the 5th for the Cannoneers. The Cannoneers improve to 8-4 on the season with games this week versus Adirondack, Mohawk Valley, and Niagara.
