Jefferson Closes Weekend Out with a Sweep over SUNY Broome

In a cold Sunday matchup, JCC battled through difficult defensive play to pull away with an 11-7 win versus SUNY Broome. Kolby Robinson pitched 4 innings with no earned runs, striking out 5. Jason Carrasco, Alex Mono, and Jahlil Surles combined for 1 earned run out of the bullpen to secure the win. Jacob Ortiz and Ashton Brea both drove in 2 runs. Brea also walked twice and stole a base. The Cannoneers completed the Sunday sweep of Broome and part of a 4-win weekend at home. Tyler Thompson pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 earned run and Jahlil Surles pitched 3 shutout innings in relief to keep the Hornets to 1 run. Ashton Brea collected another 2 RBI with a walk, single, double, and triple. Anthony Ortiz, Kaleb Peters, and Peter Gallagher each had 2 hits.
