Butcher Named NJCAA Region 3 Athlete of the Week

LaKaiya helped lead Jefferson to the NJCAA Region 3 Championship this past weekend averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the three games against Finger Lakes Community College, Hudson Valley Community College, and Herkimer College.  She had a 20 point, 11 rebound double-double with 5 assists in the semifinal win over Hudson Valley and then had 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists in the Championship game against Herkimer.  In the semifinal win over HVCC Butcher scored her 1,000th point, she is the 4th player in Jefferson Women's Basketball history to achieve this accolade.
