Cannoneers Open Season on the Road Against Onondaga

Game 1: The Cannoneers opened up their 2022 season on the road at OCC. Being the first game and outside, OCC made JCC pay for mistakes in the field, combined with timely hits to take a commanding lead early in game one. On the mound, Eli Sherwin (Cibolo, TX) highlighted the efforts with a scoreless inning pitched that included two strikeouts. John Christensen (Carthage, NY) also pitched a scoreless inning, going 1,2,3. Offensively, Will Cole (Brockport, NY), Lucas Mackey (Washago, Ontario, Can.), and Yojairo Juan (Oro Medonte, Ontario, Can.) each collected a hit. Brayden Mason (Cape Vincent, NY) worked two walks and an RBI. Dylan Castell (Brooklyn, NY) and Lucas Mackey each provided an RBI each. 

Game 2: OCC got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. JCC responded with one run in the 2nd inning as Noah Zehr (Croghan, NY) scored on a wild pitch. JCC then scored four runs in the 3rd inning on the strength of a two-out, two-run single by Nick Castell (Brooklyn, NY), scoring Will Cole and Brayden Mason. Dylan Castell also provided a two-out, two-run single scoring Chris Vargas (Bellerose, NY) and Nick Castell. Dylan Castell, Yojairo Juan, and Will Cole each collected two hits apiece. Cole Pratt (Oswego, NY) only allowed one earned run on the mound, striking out three before exiting the 2nd inning due to injury. Noah Rogers (Oswego, NY) pitched an outstanding 3 1/3 innings in relief, allowing no runs, only one hit, and struck out 5. OCC took advantage of walks to take the lead in the 6th inning and win the game.
