Jefferson Hockey Skates Past Gannon University 6-4

On Friday night, the Cannoneers Hockey team faced off against Gannon University in a non-league game. The game was played in Erie, PA at the Erie Insurance Arena. JCC opened the scoring with goals by Zachary Blevins, assisted by his brother Ryan Blevins.  Samuel Stone scored shortly after with an assist going to Cameron Winebar.  Gannon netted one goal and the first period ended at 2-1 JCC.

In the second period Cam Winebar scored of a nice play with the assist going to Carson Barrett. That line followed it up with another goal by Samuel Stone with assists to Winebar and Barret.  Unfortunately, Gannon scored three and the period ended 4-4.

In the third period JCC scored twice with Zachart Blevins and Kyle Gionet getting goals and Ryan Blevins notching another assist.   JCC maintained the lead and held on for the win.

Notable players were Leonard Dormio who made 25 saves and earned the win.  Estevan Smith, Lucian Mayberry and Tyler Wilson all looked good in only their second game since joining the team.  Next up is Mercyhurst on Sunday at 3:00 at Mercyhurst Arena in Erie.
