Natali and Rogers Finish Top Five at 2023 MSAC Championships

Painted Post, NY - The Cannoneer harriers notched two top five finishes at the Mid State Athletic Conference Championships hosted by SUNY Corning on Saturday. Sophomore Jack Natali cruised the 8K course in a time of 31:51.9 for second place overall while fellow sophomore Charles Rogers out kicked Cole Farley from SUNY Broome to nab fifth place overall. By virtue of their overall finishes, both Natali and Rogers were named to the All-MSAC team. The Cannoneers were the only school to place two runners in the top five. Rogers covered the slightly long 8K course in 34:43.2. "This race was really their last preparation before the Region III Championships next weekend", stated Coach Ummer. "They both ran smart races today and I'm very proud of their ability to make sound tactical decisions during the race. In addition, their All-MSAC honors and both finishing in the top five overall is a nice feather in the cap for Jefferson."

The Cannoneers next compete on Saturday October 28th when they travel to Finger Lakes Community College for the Region III Championships. The start time for the men is 11:15am.
