Jefferson Men's Basketball Had Tough Weekend

The Cannoneers would host the Red Barons of Corning Community College on Saturday, find themselves in a hole at halftime, and never recover in this contest.  The final score would be 110-75 in favor of the Red Barons.  The Cannoneers would claw back into the game, only to see the Red Barons fight off each advance by the Cannoneers.  Corning would pull away in the second half for a convincing victory over the Cannoneers.  Brian Rivera led the way for the Cannoneers with 17 points, followed by Jaydon Koiner with 10 points and Marcus Vincenti with 10 points/6 rebounds.

The Cannoneers traveled to Fulton-Montgomery in a makeup contest and ran into a hot-shooting Raiders team.  The Cannoneers would watch as the Raiders shot a blistering 58 % from the field and 58% from 3-point land, making 14 3-pointers.    Jefferson on the other hand were ice cold and only shot 30% for the game and 19% from 3-point land.  Leading the way for JCC was Brandon Dodge with 10 points and Owen Coall with 8 points.  Once again, a slow start would doom the Cannoneers in this Region III contest.  Next up is a home contest with Broome CC on Wednesday.
