The Cannoneers Lose 2 Close Road Contests
The Cannoneers opened play this past weekend playing at Schenectady County CC and came up on the short end of the contest by a score of 68-64. It looked liked the Cannoneers were done at half time as they trailed by a score of 34-16. The second half started with a flurry of makes and defensive turnovers and with 5 minutes the Cannoneers had tied the game. From then on, the game was back and forth, with the Royals edging the Cannoneers at the end. It was a spirited comeback by the team but fell just short.
On Sunday the Cannoneers traveled to Fulton-Montgomery to face the Raiders. The Cannoneers got off to a fast start in this game and held an early advantage, only to see it slip away at the end of the half and trail by a score of 37-25 at half time. Once again the Cannoneers found a way to battle and fought to the end. In the end, it was many makes at the free throw line by the Raiders that secured the game for them by a final score of 80-71. The Cannoneers are making strides and will be back in action after the break at home versus Columbia-Greene CC, December 6th 3 pm.
