The Cannoneers traveled to Tompkins Cortland CC on Saturday to play the Panthers for the Mid-State championship and came out on the short end, in an 81-63 loss. The first half was close as the Cannoneers looked to find their legs after playing the night before and trailed 36-28 at the half. The Cannoneers would play inspired basketball in the second half, only to see the Panthers pull away in the latter stages of the game for the win. Shamell Ponds would lead the Cannoneers in scoring with 18 points, Owen Coall with 14 points and Machi Plummer with 13 points and 14 rebounds. The Cannoneers now begin regional play as they travel to Plattsburgh Tuesday to take on Clinton CC at 6 pm.
