Cannoneers BATTLE in Road Win

Jefferson Men's Basketball found a way and persevered in a come from behind 76-75 win over Genesee Community College on Thursday night in Batavia, NY.  The Cannoneers first game of the season proved to be very interesting.  With less then 5 minutes to go, the Cannoneers would trail by as many as 10 points and battled back, taking the lead on a Babekir Elshiekh 3-pointer with 9 seconds left to put the Cannoneers up by 1.  After a timeout from the Cannoneer bench, Genesee would inbound the ball and go the length of the court and get off a couple of good looks but miss those shots for a Cannoneer win.

Leading the way for the Cannoneers was Babekir Elshiekh with 20 points, also chipping in was Shamell Ponds with 16 points/3 assists/4 steals.  Machi Plummer would have a very good game, getting a double-double with 10 points/10 rebounds/4 blocks, and lastly, Tajshaun Ferrell would add 10 points off the bench.   Next up for the Cannoneers is the Corning CC Red Barons at Corning, tip off is set for 3:00 pm.
