The Cannoneers Pick Up First Win of the Season

The Cannoneers Pick Up First Win of the Season

On Saturday, the Cannoneers hosted the Twins of Columbia-Greene Community College.  It was a close contest throughout and the Cannoneers would gain their first victory of the season by a score of 63-59.  It was a balanced effort as Konnor Bigwarfe had an impressive day off the bench, connecting for 4 three pointers and leading the way with 14 points.  Javon Hunter added 11 points, Albert Ebouki added 9 points and Natell Windley and Josh Martinez adding 7 points each for well deserved team win.  Most impressive was the fact that the Cannoneers only allowed 24 points in the second half.

On Sunday, the Cannoneers hosted the always tough Broncos of Delhi.  SUNY Delhi controlled most of the game and the Cannoneers fought to stay in the game, but poor foul shooting doomed the Cannoneers as they would lose by a score of 69-64.  Another team effort was the key for the Cannoneers as Javon hunter led the way with 12 points, followed by Josh Martinez with 10 points and Trayon Williams with 8 points.  The game was close all of the way, but the Cannoneers could never get over the hump.  The Cannoneers are next in action against North Country Community College to finish out the first semester this weekend.
